Cookie company adds flavor to celebrate birthday

Edibelles, a gourmet cookie and snack food wholesale company based in Savannah, will launch a new gourmet chocolate-covered cookie line on Saturday to celebrate its one-year anniversary.

“With the widespread success or our original Edibelles cookie and snack line, we wanted to find a way to enhance our customers’ experience without compromising their favorite flavors,” said Madeleine Warren, co-owner and founder of Edibelles.

In addition to developing new cookie flavors for 2013, Edibelles plans to expand its Southern-inspired food offerings to include a barbecue sauce.

Edibelles Wins ADDY Award

Edibelles Gourmet Cookie and Snack Company won an ADDY award for outstanding packaging at the 2012 Savannah ADDY Awards. The packaging, which weaves together Southern stories and imagery for each flavor’s box, was designed by Clark Creative of Savannah.
Edibelles was launched in 2011 by entrepreneur Madeleine Warren, who worked with the Clark Creative team to develop unique designs for the the six products. The packages celebrate the traditions of Southern hospitality with individualized stories and hand-drawn illustrations.
“Each of our flavors is a Southern tradition,” said Warren. “We wanted the packaging to reflect our Southern roots and evoke the same feeling of place that the products themselves do. We’re thrilled that the judges representing the American Advertising Federation recognized this work with an award.”
Cari Clark Phelps, creative director and founder at Clark Creative, recalls that the product development was a rewarding collaboration. “Madeleine was clear that she wanted the products to represent the recipes Southern families have used for decades. Our challenge was to develop a storyline brand and create packaging that would communicate that deep link to Southern tradition in a modern and distinctive way. We’re very proud of the result.”

The 2012 Savannah ADDY awards ceremony recognizing and rewarding creative excellence in the art of advertising was held on February 17, 2012. Conducted annually by the American Advertising Federation (AAF), The ADDY Awards is the advertising industry’s largest and most representative competition, attracting over 50,000 entries every year in local ADDY competitions. The local ADDY Awards is the first of a three-tier, national competition.

Edibelles, a locally-owned gourmet cookie and snack food wholesale company based in Savannah, Ga., recently donated cookies to the SavannahUnityBicycleRide, which supports the Wounded Warrior Project, and to the 165th Aerial Port Squadron.

“As a new food company in the Savannah community,” said Madeleine Warren, co-owner and founder of Edibelles, “we believe in fostering the generous spirit that Savannah is known for and hope that by donating not only our time, but our product to our military personnel and veterans, we are continuing this great tradition of giving back to those who give so much to us.”

On October 8, 2011, Edibelles donated 40 cases of cookies (960 packs) to the Savannah Unity Bicycle Ride event that were distributed to participants. One hundred percent of all registration fees, individual donations and T-shirt Sales went directly to the Wounded Warrior Project, which provides programs and services that ease the burdens of the wounded and their families, assist in the recovery process and aid in the transition back to civilian life.

Keeping with the spirit of giving, Edibelles also donated 96 cases of cookies (2,300 packs) to the 165th Aerial Port Squadron at the National Guard Airport, which was scheduled to be flown directly to military personnel at Dobbins Air Force base on October 13, 2011. A portion of the donated cases of cookies will be shared with troops at Dobbins, while the rest will continue on to active military combat troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.
